Trans Portugal stage 3

Julie is storming!!!
'.....For a large part of the race Julie was in the lead. She really liked the stage and said it was “her type of riding”, but by the end she was tired, especially as she had mis-memorised the stage distance, and thought it ended at 97 km........'.
apart from the last bit....doh!

KB and Cal had to pull out with illness, hopefully they will still continue the race. Get well soon!

Trans Portugal
Sunday riders Julie and KB set out to tackle the Trans Portugal this Saturday.
Supertravessia
The race runs from the 11-18th June and is a 1000km! All done by following a virtual map on a gps.
Julie will have no problem with the distance, but I can see her stamping the gps into the ground at some point:-)
Julie is going to try to text details about the stages as she finishes, which I'll post here whenever I get them.
I've just spotted that Cal is also signed up.

The Rhayader Merida 100k
Raymond and Paul rode the 100k event yesterday. Although there was no rain on the day it had rained on most days of the previous week ,so it was a bit of a slog on the heavy ground.Getting a start in the first 100 competitors is the secret to a good placing in these races because, first there is no queueing in the singletrack and second the trails get muddier the more they are ridden.
Raymond 96k in around 6 hours, Paul in around 6.15.
They met weekend warrior Jon who has entered La Ruta:-o
Paul's la Ruta
Jane's La Ruta
Photos will be on sleepmonsters soon

This week's news
Marky completed the South Downs 100miles in a day yesterday. He took 14 hours in windy and wet conditions and managed to lose three chainring bolts.
Dom rode the national 10 time trial today and came in with a 23.23.
On a classic Sunday riders Sunday ride Paul's fork snapped and he dislocated his little finger. Raymond smoothly and confidently popped it back!
Last weekend Julie won her category in the Dyfi Enduro.
And Jim got married.
