The Rhayader Merida 100k

Raymond and Paul rode the 100k event yesterday. Although there was no rain on the day it had rained on most days of the previous week ,so it was a bit of a slog on the heavy ground.Getting a start in the first 100 competitors is the secret to a good placing in these races because, first there is no queueing in the singletrack and second the trails get muddier the more they are ridden.

Raymond 96k in around 6 hours, Paul in around 6.15.

They met weekend warrior Jon who has entered La Ruta:-o

Both competitors agreed that their post race recovery was improved and that delayed onset muscle soreness(doms) was much less the next day. Both maintain that this was due to using LCO's sport salad deluxe(tm)- A perfect mix of fine salad ingredients formulated at the Cefn Labs in South Wales, designed to optimise recovery and increase performance in the elite endurance athlete.
