Ronde Vlaanderen

Does anyone fancy the tour of Flanders ciclosportif ?

Ronde vlaanderen:here

There are three routes: 256km, 140km and 75km. I suppose we have to do the long one!

The only reason I can think of for not doing it would be the exclusion of the Koppenberg this year.

Sorry for the light hijack but on the subject of trips for next year, would anyone be interested in doing the Raid Pyrenean? Not the wussy ten day one that I did thi year but the hardmen's / women's 100 hour version.

Do you have details?

We have thought about that one in the past. It would be a good excuse to get fit again.
Sorry, it would be a good reason to get fit again.

There is some info here;

But a google search will turn up plenty more. An organised trip offers the advantage of not having to carry any baggage on the bicycle. Paulo Facero expressed some interest when I spoke to him in Mallorca last year.
I can't believe that you have really become lardy Juanita. Ramon, on the other hand, was looking a bit chubby in his 3 peaks photos (he bore an uncanny likeness to an older Jan Ulrich during the height of the pie eating season).;-)

100 miles a day is fairly do-able. Do they use the last four hours to finish it. I think we could do it quicker and for less than a grand!

The only thing that really puts me off is flying from Stanstead.

I read a blog earlier in the year where a couple of guys took one spare set of clothes and a credit card. i'll try to find it.

Those "couple of guys" sound interesting - any more details on them? Single? Credit card limit?

Ok - now we're distracting LCO from her work - back to your books, miss! and back to The Ronde: I'm doing the 140km, no excuses, no reasons, it's just a statement of fat.

Yes, sorry, back to the Ronde indeed. I would like to join you for the 140km. Let me know when you book.
